The program speaker for the Thursday, Dec. 10, Rotary Club of Edina meeting will be Keith Nelsen. He is the executive vice president and general counsel for Best Buy. 
 
New member Renee Harberts will be officially inducted into the club at the Dec. 10 meeting.
 
This will be the last Rotary Club of Edina meeting of 2015. Next week there is no regular noon meeting, but the Holiday Party will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Edina Country Club. There are no meetings Dec. 24 or 31 due to the holidays. 
 
 
 
The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Keith Nelsen of Best Buy as program speaker at the Thursday, Dec. 10, meeting. 
 
Nelsen is the general counsel for Best Buy Co. Inc. As it’s principal legal officer, he has overall responsibility for the company’s legal activities worldwide. 
 
Nelsen joined Best Buy in 2005. He most recently served as senior vice president, commercial, and as general counsel for Best Buy International, managing the company’s legal responsibilities outside of the United States, including oversight of its international transactions and local law compliance. He also oversaw the company’s equity-related investments on a global basis, providing assessment, financial analysis, strategic rational and recommendations of equity investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Best Buy, Nelsen was chief administrative officer and general counsel at Danka Business Systems PLC, where he worked to maximize growth and profitability for the company in more than 20 countries. He also was responsible for worldwide legal operations and oversaw the human resources function. Before that, he was vice president, Legal, at NordicTrack, Inc. He began his career as a practicing attorney with Best and Flanagan, LLP.

Nelsen received his juris doctor from the University of Wisconsin and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Active in his community, he serves on the Human Resources Board of VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People, Minnesota’s largest food shelf) and the Board of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

The Rotary Club of Edina meets most Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. at the Edina Country Club. Anyone is welcome to attend. Cost for lunch and the program is $19 for adults, $12 for children.
