The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Bill Sullivan as the program speaker at the Thursday, Sept. 8, meeting. Sullivan is the executive vice president for Basic and Applied Research in Surgery (IBARS). He will speak about "Advances in Organ Transplantation." 
 
Terry Moore will give his classification talk at the meeting.
 
Bill Sullivan will be the program speaker at the Thursday, Sept. 8, Rotary Club of Edina meeting. Sullivan is the executive vice president for Basic and Applied Research in Surgery (IBARS). He will speak about "Advances in Organ Transplantation." 
 
Sullivan is a native of the Twin Cities, and attended the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, as an undergraduate and completed his Master's degree in healthcare administration at the University of Minnesota. 
 
He has 38 years of senior management experience in medical non-profit research foundations. For the past 32 years, Sullivan has run Dr. John Najarian's medical research foundation within the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota, focusing on issues relating to organ transplantation. 
 
In addition, Sullivan is chair of the Diplomats Committee for the Edina Chamber of Commerce; chair of the Board of Directors for the St. Paul Fire Department Foundation; and lead director for an international cardiovascular surgical society, the Lillehei Surgical Society. 
 
He is married and has two magnificent children, a wonderful son-in-law and twin grandchildren who keep Bill and his wife on their toes.

The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Edina Country Club. Cost for lunch and the program is $20 for adults, $12 for kids. We accept cash, checks or credit cards as payment for lunch. (Credit card payments will be charged an additional $1 for each lunch purchased.) All are welcome.
