The Rotary Club of Edina will host a joint meeting with the Edina Morningside Rotary Club this Thursday, Oct. 1. The program speaker will be Dave Murphy, CEO at Fairview Health Services. He is also president and CEO of Red Wing Shoe Company Inc. 
 
The meeting will feature a wrap-up of the successful Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala, held Sept. 26. President Jennifer Bennerotte might be looking a bit blue at the meeting, make sure to attend to find out why!
 
The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome members of its sister club, Edina Morningside Rotary Club, to the meeting this Thursday, Oct. 1. The program speaker for this annual joint meeting will be Dave Murphy, CEO of Fairview Heath Services. He is also president and CEO of Red Wing Shoe Company Inc. 
 
Fairview Health Services is a $3.5 billion integrated health system headquartered in Minneapolis. Dave has volunteered at Fairview for 10 years in various governance capacities. He is the current Chair of the Board for Fairview Health Services.   
 
Red Wing Shoe Company, Inc. markets Red Wing, Vasque and Irish Setter footwear brands worldwide. The privately-held company is based in Red Wing, 
Minnesota and also owns S.B. Foot Tanning Company and the St. James Hotel. Prior to joining Red Wing Shoe Company in 2001, Murphy spent 23 years at Minneapolis-based General Mills, a $12 billion global manufacturer and marketer of consumer foods.   

A native of Minneapolis, Murphy is active in the local community. In addition to the positions previously noted, he is serving on the board of the MN Business Partnership, Red Wing Shoe Company, Mortenson Construction, Wenger Corporation and Minnesota Public Radio. He is also a member of the Partners’  Board of the Red Wing Every Hand Joined Initiative.
 
The meeting will also feature a recap of the successful Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala held Sept. 26. The annual event raised funds for the Edina Rotary Foundation, which gives grants to organizations both locally and globally. President Jennifer Bennerotte may be feeling blue at the event, so make sure to attend to see why.
 
The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Edina Country Club. All are welcome. Cost for lunch and the program is $19 for adults, $12 for children.
