Rotary District 5950 Governor Mark Hegstrom will be the program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 11, Rotary Club of Edina meeting. He is the 2016–2017 District Governor for District 5950, which includes Minneapolis and suburbs, central and western Minnesota. Hegstrom is a member of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club. 
 
New member Hannelore Brucker will be officially inducted into the club at the meeting.
 
Program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 11, Rotary Club of Edina meeting will be the 2016–2017 Rotary District 5950 Governor Mark Hegstrom. He is a member of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club. 
 
Hegstrom grew up in Edina and graduated from Edina High School in 1983.  He went on to study Economics at the University of Minnesota, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. Hegstrom's wife, Colleen, has two kids and together they just adore their two darling grandchildren. When not with the grandchildren, he and his wife love to golf.
 
He joined the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside in 2002. Hegstrom served as President of his club in 2008–2009, and has since worked in District 5950 on numerous committees for the District Foundation, the District Conference and Membership. He was known as “Marketing Mark” in promoting the District Convention, and many also know him as “Membership Mark.” Hegstrom became well known to many for his membership campaign called “One and Done.”  As a champion of The Rotary Foundation, Hegstrom and his wife are Major Donors and Paul Harris Society members.
 
Mark is an owner and managing partner of Waterfront Financial Group in Golden Valley. As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, he specializes in helping divorcing spouses to financially navigate through the process of divorce and emerge independent and on their feet. He is also active in the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University program.

The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Edina Country Club. All are welcome. Cost for the program and lunch is $20 for adults and $12 for kids. We accept cash, check or credit cards for payment at the door.
