The Edina Rotary Foundation recently awarded nearly $25,000 in grants to 15 local organizations. The organizations have been visiting our weekly meetings to pick up the grant checks and share stories about their organizations and the people who will benefit from the funds.
Money for grants awarded by the Edina Rotary Foundation is raised at an annual fall fundraiser and gala and donations made throughout the year.
Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter, Can Do Canines, City of Edina Communications & Technology Services Department, Cornerstone Advocacy Service, Edina Give And Go, Fraser, Hearts and Hands Minnesota, Inner City Christian Ministries, Minnesota Life College, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Oasis for Youth, Open Arms of Minnesota, Steve Rummer Hope Foundation, Whittier Wildflowers Preschool and YMCA Camp Ihduhapi received grants from the Edina Rotary Foundation. Grants ranged from $1,000 to $3,000.
The Edina Rotary Foundation will make its largest local grant this fiscal year to Beacon Interfaith Collaborative for 66 West, a housing redevelopment scheduled to open this spring to provide housing to 39 young adults who previously experienced homelessness. The Rotary grant will be used to furnish a Community Room at 66 West.
