The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Jim Eppel as program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 6, meeting. Eppel will speak about "Healthcare 2015: Where Are We, How We Got Here, and What We Need To Do About It." He is president and CEO of UCare. 
 
Jim Eppel will be the program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 6, Rotary Club of Edina meeting. He will talk about "Healthcare 2015: Where Are We, How We Got Here, and What We Need To Do About It." 
 
Eppel has held a variety of leadership positions within local healthcare organizations, including provider entities and managed care organizations. He assumed the role of president and CEO of UCare, effective June 22, 2015. UCare serves 500,000 members in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, focusing on Medicare-eligible individuals, individuals and families enrolled in Minnesota Care and Medical Assistance, individuals with disabilities and individuals and families choosing coverage through MNsure, the new insurance marketplace. 

Health care is a discipline that impacts, or will impact, virtually all of us at some point—or multiple points—in our lives. In this talk, Jim will discuss the current issues, trends and solutions that are driving the rapid evolution of today’s healthcare marketplace. 
 
The Rotary Club of Edina meets Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. at the Edina Country Club. Cost for lunch and the program is $19. All are welcome to attend.
