The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Joe Cavanaugh as program speaker at the Thursday, March 22, meeting. Cavanaugh is a nationally known speaker with 30 years of experience working with young people and educators. He is the founder of Youth Frontiers, Inc., a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization that partners with schools to build positive school communities where students thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

Joe Cavanaugh founded Youth Frontiers, Inc., a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization that partners with schools to build positive school communities where students thrive socially, emotionally and academically. Since then, Youth Frontiers' work has impacted more than 1.7 million students and educators to enhance character and civility in our community.
 
He speaks to a variety of audiences across the country on parenting, youth character and educator renewal.
 
Cavanaugh was awarded the Social Entrepreneur of the Year by St. John’s in 2012. In 2013, he keynoted at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum on the topic of reflective leadership. In 2016, he gave the commencement address at his alma mater, St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn., where he was given an Honorary Doctorate. 
 
He has been recognized by General Colin Powell and featured in several local, regional and national media including a 90-minute PBS television special titled "Respectfully, Joe Cavanaugh."
