The Rotary Club of Edina will hold the annual fall joint meeting with the Edina Morningside Rotary Club this Thursday, Oct. 13, at 12:15 p.m. at the Edina Country Club. The program speaker for the meeting will be Joseph Puishys, CEO of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. 
 
The Oct. 20 Rotary Club of Edina meeting will be a Prospective Member Day. All Rotarians are encouraged to bring a guest to the meeting that is interested in learning more about Rotary and our club. 
 
The two Rotary clubs in Edina will gather for their annual fall joint meeting this Thursday, Oct. 13. The Rotary Club of Edina will host members of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club at 12:15 p.m. at the Edina Country Club. The program speaker will be Apogee Enterprises, Inc. CEO Joe Puishys. 
 
Puishys was named Apogee Enterprises, Inc. chief executive officer, president and a member of the board of directors in August 2011. With more than 30 years experience in manufacturing businesses, direct industry experience and a proven track record of success in leadership positions, he has developed strategies to grow Apogee to $1 billion in sales through penetrating new geographies in the United States and internationally, introducing new products and entering new markets. At the same time, Apogee is focused on achieving double digit operating margins by leveraging manufacturing capacity and pricing, and improving operations. 
 
Before joining Apogee, Puishys served for three years as president of Honeywell's Environmental and Combustion Controls division, a $3 billion business. Prior to that, he led Honeywell Building Solutions, a global leader in the installation and service of integrated building solutions. He also held leadership positions in companies that were eventually bought by Honeywell, including Bendix Friction Materials and Garrett Engine Boosting System, and served in numerous executive and financial positions across Honeywell's businesses. 

Puishys's board appointments include Arctic Cat Inc., National Association of Manufacturers and the Killebrew-Thompson Memorial Foundation. He is also a member of the Minnesota Business Partnership and the Winsights CEO Network. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Bryant University and his master's in business administration from Providence College, both located in Rhode Island.

The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. most Thursdays at the Edina Country Club. All are welcome. Cost for the lunch and program are $20 for adults and $12 for children. Cash, check and credit card (including a service fee) payments are accepted.
