Joint meeting with EMRC is this Tuesday, Feb. 23
The annual joint meeting for the two Edina Rotary clubs, hosted in the late winter/early spring by Edina Morningside Rotary Club, will be at 7:30 a.m. this Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Edina Country Club. The program speaker for the meeting will be recently retired Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page. Please attend this joint meeting and make connections with our sister Rotary club!There is no Rotary Club of Edina on Thursday, Feb. 25, because of the joint meeting earlier in the week.
Rotary Club of Edina members will attend the annual joint meeting with the Edina Morningside Rotary Club this Tuesday, Feb. 23. The meeting will start at 7:30 a.m. at the Edina Country Club. The program speaker will be recently retired Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan C. Page. All Edina Rotarians are encouraged to attend this joint meeting.
Justice Page is a former professional football player, as well as serving as associate justice on the state Supreme Court from 1993 until he reached the court's mandatory retirement age of 70 in 2015. He first gained fame as a defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings in the 1970s, and embarked on a legal career after retiring from football. Page is a member of both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1963. He received a B.A. in political science from the University of Notre Dame in 1967 and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1978.
The two Edina Rotary clubs hold joint meetings twice a year. In the fall, our club hosts EMRC members at our regular Thursday meeting. In the late winter/spring, EMRC hosts our members for a meeting on a Tuesday morning. The two clubs share many service projects each Rotary year, such as Camp Enterprise, Youth Exchange students and Thanksgiving Baskets Assembly for families in need.
There is no Rotary Club of Edina on Thursday, Feb. 25, because of the joint meeting earlier in the week.
