What was your first job? Caddy at Interlachen Country Club

 

Who was your first role model and why? To be honest, I remember in second grade writing my first paper on who my role model was. I chose my favorite wide receiver, Cris Carter, because he made catches that seemed impossible.

Why did you want to join Rotary? My dad has been a Rotarian for over 30 years. I never asked many questions about Rotary or even knew what he did at his lunch meetings. But when I began my new career, I wanted to find a way to give back and be part of a group of business men and women who share the goal of bettering their immediate community. It was at this point that I asked my dad what Rotary actually was about and I had to see for myself. To find such a large group of people dedicated to “Service Above Self” made me immediately realize I needed to join and see how I could help.

 

What do you like best about being part of the Rotary Club of Edina? Every Thursday, no matter what else is going on in my week, I know I get to spend a couple hours around people who inspire me and learn more about how I can take part in making the world a better place. The relationships I have experienced are authentic and everyone I meet is excited to work alongside each other to accomplish shared goals. I look forward to building more relationships, giving back to the community, and to see how I will be used within this club!

 

What one piece of advice do you offer other business leaders? People are what matter. Building genuine relationships is the key to a successful life. We can make all the plans in the world, but when life gets real and plans fall apart you are only left with the people you have surrounded yourself with. Be there for others and they will be there for you!
