The final meeting of the Rotary year will be this Thursday, June 29. This is the transition meeting, where the presidency of the Rotary Club of Edina will transfer from Ann Platt to San Asato. Outgoing club and foundation board members will be honored for their service, and incoming board members will be welcomed. Don't miss the chance to congratulate Ann on a successful Rotary year, and wish San luck in the year ahead.
 
There is no Rotary Club of Edina meeting Thursday, July 6, due to the Fourth of July holiday. The first meeting of the new Rotary year will be July 13.
 
 
At the meeting, outgoing President Ann Platt will reflect on the progress the club has made in the last year. Ann will serve on the club and foundation boards next year as Past President. The theme for Ann's year was "Rotary Serving Humanity."
 
Rotarians who have fulfilled their commitment on the club and foundation boards will be honored. They include: Jennifer Bennerotte, Past President; Ken Andersen, Membership–Retention Director; Keith Benson, Community Service Director—Local Funding; Mark Jessen, Public Image Director; Ed Padilla, International Service Director; Sue Spalding, The Rotary Foundation Director; Sam Thompson, Youth Service Director; and Foundation Board members Jon Barnett and Mike Kallas. Thank you for your service!
 
Incoming President San Asato will go over his plans and goals for the new Rotary year. His presidency will run from July 2017 through June 2018. The theme for the 2017–2018 Rotary year is "Rotary: Making a Difference." 
 
New members of both boards will be welcomed to their new roles, including Joe Arends, Community Service—Local Projects Director; Brandon Azbill, Community Service—Local Funding Co-Director; David Clynes, The Rotary Foundation Director; Renee Harberts, Social Director; Dan Hennen, Public Image Director; Shelly Loberg, International Service Director; Kip Peterson, Youth Service Director; Paul Peterson, Community Service—Local Funding Co-Director; and new Foundation Board members Jennifer Bennerotte, at-large member; and Keith Benson, Community Service—Local Funding. Good luck to all the Rotary directors and officers in the new year!

The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Edina Country Club. All are welcome. Cost is $20 for lunch and the program. Cash, check and credit card payments are accepted. There is a service fee on credit card payments.
