Bethune Mentee program, January, 2012

From Elana Dahlberg, Youth Enrichment Coordinator at Phyllis Wheatley Community Center: "Today [January 26th] is National Mentor Day and I just wanted to thank you for all your time and energy you have put forth in an effort to improve the life of your mentee. You are making a HUGE difference in your mentee’s life and they are so lucky to have you as a caring adult role-model! Phyllis Wheatley truly appreciates your continued commitment to serve our youth. The mentees won’t stop talking about how much fun they had on our bowling celebration and attached is a group picture. We all look forward to getting together this spring! Best, Elana"

Help needed for Jeremiah House
Rick Carlson and Norberto Moran are looking for volunteers to help out with Cooking for the Kids at Jeremiah House (Minneapolis Campus). We usually need around 6 to 10 rotarians and guests.
As anyone that has ever volunteered for this before can attest, it's a lot of fun. You get to serve dinner to single mothers and their children seeking to break the cycle of poverty, side by side with new and old friends alike.
Cooking for the Kids:
Thursday, February 24 @ 4:30 to 5:00 for setup
1510 Laurel Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55403-1266
(612) 692-8711
Any questions, please call Norberto Moran at 952-486-1780 or Rick Carlson at 952-835-5425.
