This week is Prospective Member Day at the Rotary Club of Edina! Members are encouraged to bring a friend or colleague who is interested in Rotary to the meeting. The program speaker for this week's meeting, Thursday, April 27, is Lee Anderson. Anderson is external relations director for General Mills. He will speak about "General Mills: 150 Years of Serving the World By Making Food People Love."

The southbound Highway 100 ramp to West 50th Street/Vernon Avenue will be closed this week, Monday through Friday, April 24 through 28. Crews are painting the new noise wall and adding lighting.

 

Make note if you are heading south on Highway 100 and plan to take that exit to come to the Edina Country Club for the weekly meeting.

 

 

This baseball season the Edina Noon Rotary Club is the proud sponsor of the Edina Baseball Association's Fifth-Grade Green Baseball Team 11A, coached by Jason Hughes! The 11A Team has its next game at 6 p.m. this Thursday, May 4, at the Courtney 4 Field (next to Braemar Arena on the east side of Highway 169 off of Valley View Road) vs. Minneapolis Millers.

The next Rotary Vocational Development Group will be Wednesday, May 3. The speaker at the meeting will be Dr. Hannelore Brucker. 

 

Once a month, Edina Rotarians have a chance to connect with other club members, and any guests, at the happy hour. This Rotary event is held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Mezz at the Lunds & Byerly's in Edina. The meeting will feature a brief presentation from a featured Rotarian, plus time for introductions, networking and questions. The Rotary Club of Edina and EMRC collaborate on this event.

 

 

It is time for the Spring Fireside Chats and we are looking for six volunteers to host events at their homes in the month of May. The desired weeks for the chats are May 15 and May 22. Thursday, April 20, was the annual Area 3 Rotary Vocational Day meeting featuring keynote speaker Michael Bellotti. He spoke to Rotary clubs from Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Richfield and South Metro Minneapolis Evenings, as well as students from area high schools. The theme of his talk was "How Art Saved My Life." As a surprise at the end of the meeting, the Vocational Day Committee presented artwork they had commissioned Michael Bellotti to do of longtime Rotarian Arthur Rouner!
