The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Eric Curry as program speaker at the Thursday, June 14, meeting. Curry just completed his 18th season as a Division I college basketball official. He will speak about "Called for Traveling: The Life of a College Basketball Official."

Fishing for Life, recipient of a 2017–2018 Edina Rotary Foundation local grant, can still use some boat drivers and fishing guides at 7 a.m. this Thursday, June 14, for a Armed Forces special event on Lake Minnetonka. Veterans, active duty and families are excited to spend a day on the water, but more volunteer helpers are needed. Edina Rotarian Katy Campbell, and her husband Ralph, are helping that day. There will be face painting, balloon animals, T-shirt decorating and yard games!
COST: Senior Active and Honorary Rotarians, as well as adult guests, are $20. Children are $12. Children under age 5 are free. Regular active members already paid for the picnic on their Q4 invoice. INFO: The Edina Country Club will be serving burgers, brats, chicken, corn on the cobb, watermelon, potato salad, green salad, and cookies and bars. There will also be a cash bar. WHAT: Edina Rotary is looking for volunteers to represent our club in the city of Edina's 4th of July parade!
WHERE: Volunteers will assemble with the other parade entrants on Normandale Boulevard behind the Community Center. WHEN: 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 4. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and will go for approximately two hours.
WHO: Rotarians, family and friends INFO: Not only will our volunteers be distributing Rotary goodwill, but also pencils and suckers to the kids along the road. Two lucky volunteers have the honor of carrying the Rotary banner. We will be accompanied by a posse of superheroes running alongside the presidential vehicle. As per President San Asato's announcement at the June 7 Rotary Club of Edina meeting, at the last Club Board meeting, the board unanimously adopted a policy on Diversity, Inclusiveness, Harassment, and Discrimination. The new policy in its entirety is available by clicking on the link.
The program speaker at the June 7 Rotary Club of Edina meeting was Arlene Vernon. She is a human resource strategist with over 30 years of experience as a consultant and trusted resource for a diverse group of small and medium-sized organizations. In her talk, she explored how the #metoo movement impacts us as organizational leaders and what, if anything, we’re doing about it.

Honorary Rotarian Elizabeth Anderson received her first Paul Harris Fellow from The Rotary Foundation Director for our club, David Clynes. Still time to donate to TRF this Rotary year!
