The Membership Committee is responsible for attracting new members and retaining existing members.

One of the responsibilities of membership in a Rotary club is fulfilling the minimum attendance requirement. The purpose of the attendance requirement is to foster fellowship among members. Attending club meetings is your opportunity to make new friends and keep in touch with established friends. Meetings also keep you in touch with the current events of our Club, District, and Rotary International.

As explained in the standard Rotary Club Constitution, you must attend or make up at least 60 percent of regular Rotary club meetings and attend at least 30 percent of the Club's regular meetings.

Dues are $70 per quarter. Meals are $18 per week, which are billed quarterly along with dues. The Rotary Club of Edina has a rich history of philanthropy. To sustain its own service projects and to support District 5950 and Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Edina subscribes to the philosophy of "Every Rotarian, Every Year." Members are strongly encouraged to donate to both the Edina Rotary Foundation and The Rotary Foundation. A fundraiser for the Edina Rotary Foundation is typically held in October of each year. A campaign for The Rotary Foundation is organized for the second half of each Rotary year.

The Rotary Club of Edina has three kinds of membership: active, senior active and honorary.

Active – Engaged as a proprietor, partner, corporate officer, manager or  holding an important position in an executive capacity with discretionary authority in any worthy, recognized business or profession.

Senior Active  -- Any active member of the club whose combined active membership in one or more clubs who:
a)   Who has been a member of one or more clubs for a total of 15 or more years, or
b)   Who is at least 60 years old and has been a member of one or more clubs for a total of 10 or more years, or
c)   Who is at least 65 years old and has been a member of one or more clubs for a total of 5 or more years, or
d)  Who is a present or past officer of Rotary International.
Senior Active members pay quarterly dues, but pay for meals as they attend meetings.

Honorary – A person who has served with merit and distinction in furtherance of Rotary ideals. Honorary members do not pay quarterly dues, but pay for meals as they attend meetings.
