Our District Governor, Russ Michaletz, aka “Retention Russ” will share his District 5950 theme of “Enhancing the Value of Rotary Membership” at our club meeting. At the heart of his theme is his belief to continue to live up to our motto of Service Above Self, Rotary must grow. This growth will come from focusing on the needs of our current and prospective members and requires us to substantially change the way we conduct our business.

We here at Camp Enterprise are excited to announce our redesigned website went live this weekend. Clubs can begin to use our easy to navigate on-line registration immediately and will receive an early bird price discount of $25 per student if payment is received before August 15, 2019. Camp Enterprise is a three-day camp for high school juniors and seniors designed to introduce students to the free enterprise system and encourage entrepreneurship and ethical business practices. The experience is often life changing. Each year, at least five (5) $1,000 higher education scholarships are awarded to students of exceptional merit. In total, Camp Enterprise has awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships since its inception. We are looking forward to another successful year.
This year's Rotary International Convention will be held in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii, June 6 - 10, 2020. The Rotary Club of Edina has established a fund to reimburse the registration fee to a limited number of Edina club members who will be attending an international convention for the first time. We will certainly miss the Sprague kids as they return to school! Josh introduced the Edina Rotary Foundation Board using high school graduation photos next to current photos. No one has changed much at all! Today is Rotarian Ann Platt’s birthday! There was cake in the back and the birthday song was sung with gusto. Happy Birthday Ann!
