Susan Adams Loyd is Chief Executive Officer of the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota & North Dakota, the largest professional association in the Upper Midwest. As a non-profit 501-c 6 organization, BBB sets ethical standards for thousands of accredited businesses, and educates sellers and buyers in advancing marketplace trust.

Susan spent more than 35 years in senior management at media companies in Minnesota and Florida including Clear Channel Outdoor Minneapolis/St. Paul as President, WCCO Television as VP/General Manager, WTEV & WAWS as VP/General Manager, and KARE 11 as Director of Programming. She has earned numerous industry and community service awards including a regional Emmy, the National Association of Broadcasters Service to America Award, and the University of Minnesota Notable Alumni Award.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree-Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Arts Degree-Speech Communications from Minnesota State University - Mankato. A life-long learner, she completed a second Master’s degree from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts in Extension Studies: Management in May, 2018.

She has been an active member on many civic boards including the Minneapolis Regional Chamber, University of Minnesota Alumni Association, Meet Minneapolis and Downtown Council.

She has enjoyed competitive athletics all her life, and is currently a world-ranked masters sprinter, competing in the 200m and 400m. She was the 2013 400m US Indoor National Champion in her age group and won gold at the 2015 World Master Athletics Championship in Lyons, France, with the US 4X400m W55 relay team.

Susan is a native of Edina, MN, where she graduated from high school and currently lives with her husband, Rick Loyd, who is a retired hotel executive.
