Don Smithmier is the founder and CEO of two companies: GoKart Labs and The Big Know. He will speak about "We're All Digital Start-ups Now."
 
GoKart Labs is a digital innovation consultancy with offices in Minneapolis and Washington, D.C., and is among Inc. magazine’s fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. The Big Know is a start-up invented within GoKart Labs that helps leading employers and brands deliver new and better online learning for their employees and consumers.
 
A serial entrepreneur, Smithmier has helped start six companies since 2008 that have attracted more than $17 million in investment capital.
 
He spent the first 14 years of his career as a pioneer in online education with Capella Education Company. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and his MBA from the University of Minnesota. He’s also an active musician/songwriter, youth coach and non-profit board member.
