The Rotary Club of Edina’s Youth Service Committee will work on an annual literacy project in April.

Rotarians will read the story to third-graders at Cornelia Elementary School, 7000 Cornelia Drive, 1-1:30 p.m. and 1:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. After the reading, each student will be presented a paperback copy of the book.

The project uses the book Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure to share the ideals of the Four-Way Test with third-graders in the community. The book was developed by the Rotary Club of Fairborn, Ohio, and TokoBooks. Many Rotary clubs have adopted it as an annual literacy project.

At least eight volunteers are needed to do the project in four classrooms, reaching about 100 students. If you are available that day and would like to read to a classroom or assist with book distribution, please contact Jennifer Bennerotte, 952-833-9520 or jbennerotte@EdinaMN.gov.
