Saturday night, Sept. 29, 200+ Rotary Club of Edina members and guests celebrated Rotary at our annual Fundraiser & Gala. It was a fantastic night of fun, food, music and fellowship. We even saw Rotarians dance...late into the night to the sounds of Ronny Loew, Kimberly Michaels and JayBee!
The financial results are not finalized but all indications look good. A final report will be issued shortly. A special thank you to all 58 of our gala sponsors for helping us reach our financial goal! And our club gives a HUGE THANK YOU to our event chairs Jody Kern and Kip Peterson, and their fabulous committee of volunteers. It was the best Rotary Party ever! Enjoy these photos (more if you click below), and visit the Club Facebook page for even more photos from "Rotary's Got Talent!"

Rotarian Doug Johnson is looking for help with a Rotary service project. Doug is one of our volunteers who picks up bread each Friday morning from Jerry's Foods in Edina and then drops the bread off at St. Stephen's Church and School, where it is used by the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen. Doug will be unable to make the bread deliveries in November and December. Can you fill in for Doug for a couple months? Please contact Doug and let him know you can help, and he'll give you more information. The project has several Rotarians that volunteer their time, and it is organized by Dan Hallberg.
Thanks for stepping up to help out a member and take part in one of our Community Service—Local Projects.
The Rotary Club of Edina welcomed two new members in September 2018. The Board of Directors approved memberships for Sharon Chandler and Sylvester Thomas. Welcome to Rotary!
The board accepted the resignations of Leann Stessman and Dan Stolfa in September.
These changes bring our club membership to 176 active members, and 9 Honorary members. Our year-end goal is 180 active members—please invite a friend or colleague to Prospective Member Day at this week’s Rotary meeting, Oct. 4!
For more information, contact Membership Director Royce Pavelka.
The Quarter 2, October–December 2018, billing will be sent to all members this week. Please pay attention to your email inbox or mailbox and let Club Administrator Jennifer Garske know if you have questions.
If you are signed up for ACH automatic payments, you DO NOT have to pay your invoice. Just look it over and let Jen Garske know if you have questions. Your automatic payment will come out of your account around Oct. 10.
If you would like to sign up for ACH automatic payments, contact Jen Garske at jgarske@EdinaRotary.org and she'll send you a form to fill out.
Note that the credit card fee on payments made on online is now 5 percent of the total. You will see this fee on the next quarterly invoice after you pay. So if you paid your invoice by credit card in Q1 (July–September 2018), you will see the 5 percent fee on the Q2 invoice you receive this week.

Thank you for generously supporting Memorial Blood Centers with your contribution of $75 in August in honor of program speakers at July Rotary meetings.
Now celebrating our 70th year, Memorial Blood Centers has been consistently meeting our community's need for a safe and stable blood supply for area hospitals. Your contribution touches the lives of many people, from the blood donor to the grateful patient, including family and friends.
Your gift allows Memorial Blood Centers to:
Operate 10 donor centers and conduct hundreds of blood drives each month
Provide specially matched units for cancer patients, newborns, and others with chronic medical conditions
Support local air ambulances with Type O negative blood, the universal donor, on all flights
Conduct workshops for area high schools to engage the next generation of blood donors
Your support helps us save lives every day and plays a vital role sustaining the health of our community.
With gratitude for this thoughtful opportunity,
Larry Silber Corporate and Community Relations Officer Memorial Blood Centers
