The next Rotary Vocational Development Group will be this Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Once a month, Edina Rotarians have a chance to connect with other club members, and any guests, at the happy hour. This Rotary event is held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Mezz at the Lunds & Byerly's in Edina. The meeting will feature a brief presentation from a featured Rotarian, plus time for introductions, networking and questions. The speakers for the Wednesday, Aug. 2, gathering will be Nash Faulk and Scott Hawkins. The Rotary Club of Edina and EMRC collaborate on this event.
WHERE: 66 West Apartments, 3330 66th St. W., Edina
WHO: All Edina Rotarians are invited. The community room at 66 West was our Club's Signature Project for the 2016–2017 Rotary year. There will be a chance to tour the facility, and a short outdoor program will begin at 5:30 p.m. This event will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

Photographer Polly Norman will take portraits of Rotarians before the club's meeting next week, Aug. 10. Photos will be used in the Club Directory and in President San Asato's weekly meeting presentation. Please arrive between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., prepared to have your photo taken.
If you would prefer to submit a photo, please send it to Past President Jennifer Bennerotte as soon as possible. Photos should be in color, high-resolution and taken in the past three years. Professional portraits are preferred.
The Rotary Club of Edina will host Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, as program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 17, meeting. Our club has invited all Area 3 and 5 Rotary clubs to attend this meeting, as well as the Minneapolis #9 Rotary Club. For planning purposes, Edina Rotarians are asked to please register here if they plan to attend and also to register any guests they will bring. We expect more than 250 Rotarians and guests to attend this meeting, so we need all those who plan to be there Aug. 17 to register online. The deadline for registering is noon Friday, Aug. 11.

The spotlight was on International Service at the July 20 meeting. Gary Pedersen, past director of the International Service Committee and current Edina Rotary Foundation Board member, shared information on the water sanitation project getting underway in Guatemala. Gary and his committee have been working on this project for three years, and it has involved support from area Rotary clubs and District 5950, as well as a Global Grant from Rotary International. Rotarian Dan Mott introduced Jeff Hall and Jill Lalonde from OneVillage Partners, two more program speakers who shared information about service projects around the world.
An impactful video was shown of what OneVillage Partners has done and the improvements for future generations.
