Chris came to MATTER after owning and operating a successful organic farm for over a decade. In his role at MATTER, Chris ensures transparency and accountability for the business units and MATTER's push to accomplish the vision of sustainability through Social Enterprise. Chris is also Owner of the Chaya Tree Initiative, ensuring the vision is fully realized to improve health and nutrition in rural communities and to build an economic development component. MATTER is a global nonprofit on a mission to help people launch projects that improve communities. As a partner of the Edina Rotary Foundation, they have done amazing work in helping our foundation secure equipment and facilitate global shipping logistics.

Our speaker will be Renee Harberts. Renee is a member of The Rotary Club of Edina, and an independent insurance broker with Associated Professionals. Renee helps individuals understand health insurance and Medicare in simple, plain terms. She believes that if folks have a little more information up front, they will make better decisions about their Medicare plans and make Medicare work better for them or a loved one. She will attempt to Demystify Medicare for you.

The Edina Rotary Coke Rewards Community Service project is still on-going and full of life. The ERC community service committee will continue to collect and promote this project as a way to give back to St. Jude's throughout 2022. Please collect and turn in your bottle caps and carton/plastic sleeve product codes to the basket located on the registration table. Keep in mind, carton product codes are found on the inside of the cartons (no visible UPC or Scan Codes accepted) and bottle caps codes are printed on the inside of the cap. On a sunny, cold and blustery mid-March day our speaker was Heather Flies who is the youth paster at Wooddale Church in Edina. Her topic was “Challenges Facing Our Youth”. Heather caught the audience’s attention quickly by promising “we are all going to have a good time today” and that in her opinion “it is a sin to bore people”.
