The speakers at the Nov. 8 Rotary Club of Edina meeting were Lori Syverson, Executive Director of the Edina Chamber Commerce, and our own Tim Murphy, past Edina Rotary President and Rotary District 5950 Governor. Syverson and Murphy are members of the Edina Economic Development Committee. They shared the vision of what Edina might look like moving forward. Sam Thompson, marketing director for Camp Enterprise, gave a recap of the successful event held earlier this month. We celebrated longtime Rotarian Bill Clynes' birthday with a song and a cake provided by Bill's son (and fellow Rotarian) David Clynes. Happy birthday, Bill! This week, Wednesday, Nov. 21, is our annual Thanksgiving Baskets event! Join us for lunch at the Edina Country Club at 11:45 a.m., followed by the assembling of Thanksgiving baskets. Then teams will deliver their baskets to families in need in Edina and the surrounding communities.
WHAT: "Friendsgiving" Happy Hour for Rotarians
The annual Area 3 Rotary Veterans Luncheon was Monday, Nov. 12, at Bloomington Hilton. Gen. Denny Schulstad, U.S. Air Force (retired), emceed the luncheon and was honored for his years of dedication to the event. Schulstad is a former long-time member of our club. Minnesota Sen. Tina Smith attended the luncheon and helped honor Schulstad. The featured speaker at the luncheon was Col. Ken Rizer, U.S. Air Force (retired). .jpg)
Six area high school students won scholarships during Camp Enterprise earlier this month. Camp Enterprise, organized by the Rotary Club of Edina and Edina Morningside Rotary Club, provides high school students with a unique opportunity to learn about leadership, business and the free enterprise system..jpg)
