Edina Rotary Club member Randy Smasal, Assistant Superintendent for Edina Public Schools shared the exciting news about Student Spaceflight Exploration Program, a truly exceptional opportunity to foster curiosity and creativity; develop critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills through an authentic, scientific experiment design process. Edina Public Schools students will participate in the rigor of scientific competition and experience the thrill of having their experiment, or an experiment from their school district included onboard the International Space Station. SSEP is another example of how Edina Public Schools is enabling each and every student to discover their possibilities and thrive. Mentors are needed for four hours total. Details in the link below.

It is time to plan the Rotary Club of Edina Fall Fireside Chats. The Social Committee is looking for hosts for these casual get-togethers. We are looking to schedule the 2022 Fall dates throughout October at a times to be determined.
Held each spring and fall, the Fireside Chats are very informal social exchanges for members to enjoy and learn about Rotary and to get to know one another usually in a members home. The hosts are asked only to encourage discussion and a good time for all. It is a chance to meet our new members or reconnect with old friends!
Members are encouraged to come to all the Fireside Chats, or pick the one that best works with their schedule.
New members—you are especially encouraged to attend one or all of the Fireside Chats! It is a great way to get to know your fellow Rotarians and introduce yourself to a small group in a casual atmosphere. Let us know if you have questions.
Volunteers are needed to host a chat. For more information, contact Brad Hepp or Kayla Beehler.

Become a Host Family TODAY!! Both students, Sam and Ivo, have arrived and we are looking for two additional host families that wish to expand their world and learn more about another culture while sharing their culture with a Rotary Exchange Student. The primary requirement is a willingness to open your heart and home to an exchange student and accept him or her as your own. Family makeup is less important than a desire to host. Families with or without kids, empty-nesters, single parents.... it’s all a part of the experience! YOU ARE WHAT WE NEED!!
