A member of the Monticello Rotary Club since 1994, Marianna Khauv has long been putting service above self. Marianna has served as the club's secretary, international service chair and president. Additionally, she served as a member of the District Grant Committee from 2013-2019 and as Rotary District 5950 Area 13 assistant governor from 2016 to 2019. This will be a joint meeting with Edina Morningside Rotary Club.
We are doing a winter clothing drive in conjunction with the Edina Morningside Rotary Club at the joint meeting on October 28th. The Involve MN van will arrive at 11:45 am and our goal is to stuff it full of winter clothes. Your friends and family are welcome to participate.

2021 marked Dick Bremer’s 38th season as a broadcaster for the Twins. The Minnesota native graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1978. Following his graduation he worked for three years in Cedar Rapids, IA as a sportscaster for WMT-Radio and TV (now KGAN-TV). The annual Area 3 Rotary Veterans Luncheon is set for Thursday, Nov. 11, at Edina Country Club. Doors open and registration begins at 11 a.m. with live music and the luncheon beginning at 11:15 and concluding at 1:15 p.m.
Our club is one of seven southwest metro Rotary clubs in District 5950 to sponsor this special Veterans Day Luncheon to honor those who have served our country.
Tom Hauser, KSTP, will be the emcee at the event. The featured speaker at the luncheon is Minnesota National Guard Sergeant First Class Joshua R. Guyse.
Cost for Area 3 Rotary club members and their guests will be $26 per person. Rotary members of Minnesota Veterans, Bloomington, Eden Prairie AM, Eden Prairie Noon, Edina-Morningside, Richfield, South Minneapolis Metro and the Twin Cities Rotary EcoClub should register with their club by Wednesday, Nov. 3. Club representatives should report their club registered guest list and total to Edina Rotary Club President Elect, Joe Hayes, by Noon, Thursday, Nov. 4.
Each Edina Noon Rotarian may invite one veteran as a guest of our club. The Veterans Luncheon will take the place of our club's regular meeting that week and there is no additional charge for Rotary Club of Edina members to attend. On Wednesday, November 24, members of the Rotary Club of Edina, along with members of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club, will prepare and deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout the Twin Cities region. A roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberries, potatoes and gravy along with vegetables, oranges, even a delicious pie, make their way to area homes via active Rotarians and their families. With a side of warm knit mittens to help with the coming winter, these Thanksgiving Baskets bring some brightness and joy into the holiday season.
There will be a call for canned goods, the opening of registration for both clubs to join together for a family luncheon and to organize their assembly teams and socialize. The Rotary Club of Edina will host the Leadership Ethics Seminar for Edina High School students on Tuesday, December 7, at St. Patrick's Church in Edina. This all-day session features small group discussions, speakers, and a case study discussion for the entire group.
The Student Ethics Seminar is chaired this year by Youth Services Director, Andre Brewer. The seminar was started by longtime Rotarian Jerry Potter, who initiated the "Do the Right Thing" workshop for Edina students years ago.
