The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Dr. Nancy Hutchison as program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 16, meeting. Hutchison is a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation and she is a national expert in helping patients recover from the physical side effects of cancer and cancer treatment.
Rotarian Susan Stiles will give her Classification Talk at the meeting.

Edina Rotarians Ann Platt and Bonnie Rolstad, along with Karen Walkowski of the Minnetonka-Excelsior Rotary Club, attended the Women in Business series "Minnesota Lawmakers work to stop human trafficking" in Bloomington. At the event, sponsored by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN) discussed current and new legal initiatives on the fast track for passing related to this issue.
Both Platt and Rolstad are working with other Rotarians in District 5950 to highlight the issue of human trafficking and find solutions.

The Rotary Club of Edina and the Edina Morningside Rotary Club are embarking on starting and supporting a Rotaract Club. Rotaract clubs consist of young professionals between the ages of 18 and 30. Starting a Rotaract Club is one of five of our clubs visioning goals. It also is Rotary International President Barry Rassin’s goal this year is to expand Rotaract globally and strengthen the transition from Rotaract into Rotary.
The first meeting of the Rotaract Club of Edina will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at The Mezz at Lunds & Bylerlys, 7171 France Ave. S. Thereafter, meetings will be held there 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Each meeting will feature a speaker and focus on service projects in alignment with Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”
