There will be no regular Rotary Club of Edina meeting Thursday, Sept. 21, due to the Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala "Diamond Jubilee" Saturday, Sept. 23.
The Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala Diamond Jubilee is right around the corner! The last day to purchase tickets or register for your sponsor tickets is this Thursday, Sept. 14. Also make sure to bring your Fundraiser raffle ticket money to the meeting this week, Sept. 14. You can give your raffle ticket stubs (these MUST be returned whether you sold all your tickets or not) and money collected to Marty Kupper or Mike Opitz. Rotary After Hours is a happy hour held the third Friday of the month from 4 to 6 p.m. This casual gathering is open to any Edina Rotarian—brand-new to long-time members! The club will have tables reserved at Pinstripes in Edina, but all food and drinks will be the responsibility of members and guests who attend. Dan Hennen will be hosting this event.

INFO: Edina Morningside and South Metro Minneapolis Evenings Rotary clubs are holding their fifth annual Oktoberfest Fundraiser! This charity beer tasting event raises funds for the EMRC and SMME Rotary foundations and will go toward worthwhile projects around the globe and in our backyard.
COST: $40 in advance online/$45 at the door. Fee includes local craft beer sampling, appetizers and a souvenir Rotary tasting glass.
WHO: Any Rotarian and family and friends. Children must be 5 or older.
INFO: It is time for our fall visit to Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for those around the world in need! We will pack enough food to feed over 60 people for a year in just two hours. Contact Mike Sitek with questions.
Several Edina Rotarians participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's Saturday, Sept. 9, at Target Field in Minneapolis. The "Rotary Rally for ALZ" team was made up of Rotary Club of Edina and Edina Chamber of Commerce members, along with their family and friends. Rick Carlson and Brad Hepp organized the team. Congratulations!
After successful surgery at Mayo, my recovery has been difficult and will take a long time. What a nice surprise it was to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my Edina Rotary friends! Thank you for thinking of me and for boosting my spirits.

On a cool and sunny day with overtones of autumn (pairs well with hardy Honeycrisp apples and a nice Sancerre), the Rotary Club of Edina met Thursday, September 7, at the Edina Country Club. With schools now in session and lighter traffic, the pace of life has mercifully shifted down one gear.
