Topic: "Finding Peace Before All Is Said and Done". Pat Miles Zimmerman esteemed for her professionalism by viewers, listeners, and her colleagues, the versatile Pat Miles became one of the Minneapolis region’s premier television news anchors and radio talk hosts.
A role model for women in the industry, she has received numerous honors for her work in broadcasting and in the community, including the National Television Academy’s Silver Circle Award. She is also in the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
The second of a two- part series "Concerts on the Green" begin next week, July 21. Hosted by Church of St. Patrick, presented by Washburn-McReavy and sponsored by Rotary Club of Edina and State Farm Insurance-Matt Boockmeier, this FREE two session musical series is open to the public. Friday, July 21 will feature Classic American Rockers with special guest Red Stiletto. The June 29, 2023 meeting will mark the 69th presidential transition for the Rotary Club of Edina. During this meeting current president, Joe Hayes, will hand over the presidential duties to Shelly Loberg. Shelly joined the Edina Rotary Club in May 2015. Her sponsor is Brad Hepp and her classification is Tourism. The 2023-24 board of directors will be President, Shelly Loberg; President Elect, Paul Peterson; Treasurer, Lisa Walker; Secretary; Gerry Norton.
This year there is a challenge between The Rotary Club of Edina and Edina Morningside Rotary Club to see which club will get the highest percentage of members to donate $25 or more to The Rotary Foundation. EARLY START July 13, 12:15 p.m. our club will celebrate with Dr. Sita Dash and his family the recognition of membership to Rotary International's prestigious Arch Klumph Society. This celebration will be a part of our regular meeting with a luncheon serving fresh Indian cuisine and featuring India presentations and speeches by respected leaders of the Rotary Club and local community. On Saturday, June 3 over 10 members of The Rotary Club of Edina together with members of the Rotaract Club of Edina and Edina Federated Women's Club/GFWC worked the grass yard into a couple of side gardens and surrounded the home on three sides with flowers, trees and plants. This bungalow styled sober-living home shelters, educates and cares for formerly trafficked women. The project was organized by our community service director, John Buttolph with the professional landscape design creation and planting assistance by EMRC Rotarian, Lisa Schmitz. Great job!
