In 2015, Amanda was recruited to transform Deluxe Corp.’s 100-year-old, $2 billion brand. She spearheaded the “Small Business Revolution,” first showcasing 100 businesses across America, then going on to award $500,000 transformations to inspiring small towns. In the sixth season (Fall 2021), they are bringing the show back to Minneapolis and St. Paul to celebrate and share the stories of Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs highlighting the effects of economic empowerment and closing gaps and strengthening the fabric of our local communities. Post Plus, Aminia Osman, Visited May 27

The Rotary Club of Edina is working to assist a Minneapolis business damaged during civil unrest last summer.

Through a partnership with the Lake Street Council, several Rotary Clubs in Rotary International District 5950 are being paired with Minneapolis businesses damaged or destroyed in late May or early June 2020 to provide them assistance. Our club member's response has been swift and so very helpful for the owner, Amina Osman, visited our club on Thursday, May 27.

June 2 - Vocational Happy Hour
We are happy to announce that we will be having a virtual Zoom Happy Hour Vocational Development meeting AND live meeting this month.  The live meeting will be held at CW's Bar and Restaurant, 8302 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN 55437  We will meet at 5:30 for happy half hour and our speaker presentation from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. If you're attending in-person, registration HERE will be greatly appreciated.  If you'd prefer, you can attend via Zoom without registering by clicking the link below. Our speaker will be Edina Rotary Morningside Club member, Nancy Grazzini-Olson, Owner of Academy College in Bloomington and Thunderbird Aviation in Crystal and Eden Prairie.

Volunteer to Deliver Beds - June 4
On Friday, June 4, 2021 Rotary Club of Edina members will have the opportunity to work with My Very Own Bed in this hands-on outreach opportunity for families with kids, individuals, clubs, teams, youth groups, or work groups to assemble dream kits and help deliver beds and dream kits to children in our community in need of beds. If you're interested in helping, please add your name and the names of those coming with you to the volunteer list located HERE. My Very Own Bed received a 2021 Edina Rotary Foundation grant and is looking forward to working with member of our club. Contact Community Service Director, Lisa Walker, with any questions.
FREE Shred Event, June 5
On June 5, 2021, 8 am to Noon, fellow Rotarian John Mazzara is sponsoring a  FREE Shed Event in the parking lot of Re/Max at 7700 France Ave S.  Bring your paper documents for disposal. Please feel free to invite a friend, a large truck has been ordered. Go tothe South side of the Building and look for the inflatable Re/Max Balloon and ShredIt truck. June 26 - Rock n' Rotary
Rotary is throwing one of the first parties of the summer.  Come join us for a fun night listening to a live band!  Yes, live music on June 26th.  If you want to remember what it is feels like to shake your body and have some fun, come join us.  A limited number of tickets will be available.  Bring a friend and PARTY ON.

Service: 10 Members Visit Guatemala

The Rotary Club of Edina had ten members taking part in the 2021 International Service trip to Coban, Guatemala. The service trip will ran May 15 through May 22, 2021 and included visits to Guatemala City, Coban, Escuintla and Antigua. Much of this trip was documented through photos and comments on the club's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/EdinaRotary.

Mask Guidelines at Edina Country Club
The City of Edina including the Edina Country Club will follow the lead of national, state and local health authorities, and will not enact a city-wide mask requirement. In accordance with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state health authorities, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order Friday, May 14 that no longer requires masks or facial coverings statewide.

EDITING OF THE MAY 27, 2021, SPEAKER AMANDA BRINKMAN IS DELAYED AND NOT POSTED - IT WILL BE POSTED LATER THIS WEEK
Back to the hybrid version of your choice to attend club meeting via IN-PERSON or ZOOM platforms. The continued excellent editing talents of C-Vision Productions (Chris Laskowski) is allowing us to make better use of the taped and edited meetings posted weekly to You Tube and use them as our new "In Review" format. This will eliminate the duty of "The Barker" note taker/writer and we will, for the time being, no longer publish written reviews. In-person meeting photos will resume. Keep in mind watching the You Tube video counts as a make-up. Let Becci know what meeting dates you watched and she will mark you as attended.
 
We will post the link to the last meeting video taped (see above) and photos from the meeting.
