Heidi Haley-Franklin is the Vice President, Programs at the MN ND chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in Minnetonka, MN. Heidi has over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and families, and working with individuals and families group homes, long-term and home health care settings. In her current position, she leads all of the Association’s programs and services, expands dementia awareness across all communities, and provides clinical supervision and ongoing education to those who directly work with individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Heidi holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, a BA from the University of MN, Morris, and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
At the March 12th Rotary Club of Edina meeting, TRF Director Bob Scott honored one of our club Past Presidents, San Asato and his wife, Shelia. They were recognized for their generous donations to The Rotary Foundation and achieving Major Donor Level 3 status! That means San and Sheila have given over $50,000 to The Rotary Foundation. Let’s all congratulate San and Shelia!
With gratitude, we would like to recognize Corey Falls for taking his time to meet with the Junior Board Members (jr high and highschool students) of Gigi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center to teach them about the Rotary grant process. Corey covered the grant guidelines and provided examples of the types of applications that get approved through the process and examples of grants that do not get approved through the process. The students were very engaged and inquisitive keeping Corey on his toes!

Augustana Lutheran Church and Community Emergency Service (CES) share a long history of service in Minneapolis. Over 50 years ago, Augustana founded CES as one of the first downtown food shelves. Today, CES operates as its own organization but remains closely tied to Augustana, sharing space and a joint commitment to serving neighbors with dignity, compassion, and care.
One way this mission comes to life is through monthly Community Dinners, which bring neighbors together for a free meal and fellowship. Our Rotary Club will be volunteering at the April 8th dinner.

The Rotary Club of Edina’s Membership Committee and Board of Directors welcome John Harmon as a member of the Rotary Club of Edina. John is the founder and executive director of Thrive Kenya who provides housing in four locations for orphaned, abandoned and abused children in Kenya, www.thrivekenya.org. He is active in his church and has served on various non-profit boards, committees and event volunteering. John and his wife, Joy Ann, live in Minnetonka.

Ben is a business development director at All In One Accounting located in Eagan. He was previously a member of the Lions Club and while growing up participated in numerous mission trips. He is looking to expand his community engagement and sharr meaningful connections through local and international volunteer projects. Ben lives in Edina with his wife, Ellie and young son.
Thank you so much for the beautiful plant you sent to my dad's funeral. It was gorgeous and meant so much to me. It included an African violet, which was a favorite plant of my paternal grandmother. When I saw it, it felt like she was there with us! It was so special.
