The June 29, 2023 meeting will mark the 69th presidential transition for the Rotary Club of Edina. During this meeting current president, Joe Hayes, will hand over the presidential duties to Shelly Loberg. Shelly joined the Edina Rotary Club in May 2015. Her sponsor is Brad Hepp and her classification is Tourism. The Rotary Club of Edina and Edina Rotary Foundation will be walking in the City of Edina 4th of July parade. Watch for an email from Public Image Director, Jennifer Hendrickson, to sign up as a volunteer to hand out candy and be a part of the event.
EARLY START July 13, 12:15 p.m. our club will celebrate with Dr. Sita Dash and his family the recognition of membership to Rotary International's prestigious Arch Klumph Society. Buffet lunch featuring fresh Indian cuisine will begin at Noon. This celebration will be a part of our regular meeting featuring India presentations and speeches by respected leaders of the Rotary Club and local community. The second of a two- part series "Concerts on the Green" begin next week, July 21. Hosted by Church of St. Patrick, presented by Washburn-McReavy and sponsored by Rotary Club of Edina and State Farm Insurance-Matt Boockmeier, this FREE two session musical series is open to the public. Friday, July 21 will feature Classic American Rockers with special guest Red Stiletto. A food truck and concessions will be available for purchase with service from 6:00 to 8:0pm, concerts begin at 7:00 pm. Grab your family, blanket and lawn chairs for an enjoyable night out. The start of the 2023-2024 Rotary year is near and the full-year meeting duty roster for Rotary Club of Edina was delivered to your email on Monday, June 26. In two formats, by date or alphabetical last name, you should be able to easily find your name, date and duty. The roster will be updated from time to time to rotate in new members, resignations and other changes throughout the roster.
To more efficiently use our members time, the club went to a combined duty model giving most members only one meeting throughout the year to engage in a Rotary meeting duty. Exceptions are members serving as photographers and speaker committee members who are scheduled more often. We will continue to post the member duty responsibilities on our club website, in “The Barker” and send out reminder emails with job descriptions prior to your scheduled duties. Thank you for your patience while we took the time to build out and assign the full-year of duties and please let Club Service Director, Mike Martiny, know if you have any questions.
