Sept 2 Speaker: Sri Zaheer, Dean of Carlson School of Management

The topic of Sri Zaheer’s presentation is "The Transformative Power of Higher Education". During her tenure as dean of the Carlson School, Sri has launched the Military Veterans Initiative, increased the business community’s engagement with the school and has overseen the introduction of new degrees in business analytics, supply chain management, finance, and new programs in partnership with Tsinghua University in Beijing and Tongji University in Shanghai. Sept 1 - Vocational Happy Hour
TOMORROW, September 1 we will be gathering together for live meetings held at CW's Bar and Restaurant, 8302 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN 55437 on Wednesday, Sept. 1.  We will meet at 5:30 for happy half hour and our speaker presentation from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. No registration is necessary, just show up. Jane and Jake Ehresmann of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club are CPA's at Ellingson & Ellingson and will grace our group with a family owned approach to accounting services. Ellingson & Ellingson has entered their third generation of providing financial services to our community. 
 
Please feel free to extend an invitation to friends, prospective members, as well as members from other clubs. We hope you will join us for this great opportunity to have a lot of fun while getting to know your fellow Rotarians better. Don't be afraid to come "rub shoulders with people of significance."

Sept 11 Ceremony Flag Install and Removal

A local resident needs help from the Rotary Club of Edina for an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11. See details below.

Rotarians are needed to install and remove the flags and attend the event. Volunteers will install the flags 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 and remove them 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12. Rotarians are also encouraged to attend the event before or after going to the Edina Car Show. Join fellow Rotary Club of Edina friends and family at Target Field for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's. Here are the details:

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 18, Walk starts 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 
WHERE: Target Field   Gate 28 
WHO: All Rotarians, friends and families
INFO:  Come and join us for the social event of the season! Our club, along with other District 5950 Rotarians, are encouraged to join the Rotary Rally for ALZ team and join us for the Walk to End Alzheimer's! Sign up to participate, donate to the team, or do both! WATCH our video for more info!

Edina Rotary Foundation Plans Annual Fundraiser
 
 
Tickets are on sale and registration is open for the Edina Rotary Foundation’s annual fundraiser and gala.  Save $50 per ticket by purchasing early. Early bird ticket sales end at midnight on Thursday, Sept 2. Register to attend and purchase your tickets HERE.  Registration forms will also be available on the meeting tables for you to fill out and leave with Becci at the front desk. 
 
This year’s fundraiser, themed “Let’s Dance,” will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest. The event will feature dinner, dancing to music by the High and Mighty Band and a raffle.

Gala Raffle Tickets - Return by Sept 28
 The Gala Raffle committee has completed the meeting distribution of this year's gala raffle tickets. If you didn't receive your tickets at a meeting, they have been mailed to you. Tickets stubs and money are due to Marty Kupper, Kip Peterson or Tom Bach no later than Wednesday, September 28, 2021. Please contact Marty, Kip or Tom with any questions.
Camp Enterprise 2021, Nov 4 -6
Helping to develop the next generation of business leaders, Edina Morningside and the Rotary Club of Edina are hosting up to 120 junior and senior students from 60 District 5950 and 5960 high schools. During the three-day camp held at YMCA Camp Induhapi in Loretto, Minnesota these area Rotary club sponsored students will discover the free enterprise system. Volunteers and mentors are welcome to join in this unique and valuable experience. Please contact Mary Brindle of the Morningside club with any questions and to volunteer to help mbrindle@comcast.net

20th Anniversary of 9/11 Program Volunteers -- 8:00 am Flag Install and 9/12 5pm Flag Removal, Utley Park, 4521 W. 50th Street SIGN UP HERE
 
VEAP – Pack Food Bags – September 15 and 29. Two shifts per day, five people per shift. SIGN UP HERE.
 
Gala Committee – Now through October 2. Work with Gala committee on tasks associated with event preparation and event day facilitation. Time commitment will vary and any help will be very much appreciated. Contact Jody Kern, Paul Mooty or Kayla Beehler.
 
Camp E – Now through November 6. Work with Camp E committee on tasks associated with preparing for and facilitating camp participants. Task length may range from a couple hours to full day attendance. Please contact Mary Brindle, Edina Morningside.
