Autumn has arrived and it is time for the annual Fall Fireside Chats! The Fireside Chat hosted by Thom Winninger is tonight, Oct. 24. There are two events left for Rotarians to attend this week, Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. All Fireside Chats begin at 7 p.m. and include:
Thursday, Oct. 25—home of Gordy Lewis, 6824 Chapel Lane, Edina. Register here. Friday, Oct. 26—home of Paul Mooty, 5320 Kelsey Terrace, Edina. Register here.
Held each spring and fall, the Fireside Chats are very informal social exchanges for members to enjoy and learn about Rotary and to get to know one another. The hosts are asked only to encourage discussion and a good time for all. It is a chance to meet our new members or reconnect with old friends! Members are encouraged to come to all the Fireside Chats, or pick the one that best works with their schedule. We encourage everyone to register to allow the hosts to plan for the event.
New members—you are especially encouraged to attend one or all of the Fireside Chats! It is a great way to get to know your fellow Rotarians in a casual atmosphere. Let us know if you have questions.
We are looking for volunteers for 2018 Camp Enterprise! We need all different kinds of volunteers to make the event a success for more than 100 area high school students. Camp is Nov. 1 through 3 at YMCA Camp Ihduhapi. Contact Sam Thompson to volunteer, or for more information about our largest Youth Service project. If you are a new member who would like to know more, contact Sam, or go to the Camp E website and learn more, and then volunteer!
We also need more students to attend this great camp! We have spots open for Edina students—including children or grandchildren of Rotarians. If you have a family member that is a junior or senior in high school, please share info about Camp E with them and encourage them to attend. They can register here and find out all about the Camp E experience. If you or your student have questions, contact Sam Thompson or this year's Camp E Chair, Hein de Hoog of the Edina Morningside Rotary Club.
Thank you for helping us make this event a success!

Please register yourself and all guests online by Nov. 1. We need to report our attendance to the planners, so all are asked to register if they plan to attend.
Gen. Denny Schulstad, U.S. Air Force (retired), will be the emcee at the event. Schulstad is a former long-time member of our club. The featured speaker at the luncheon is Col. Ken Rizer, U.S. Air Force (retired).

The Leadership Ethics Seminar was chaired this year by John Buttolph and Sutton McGraw. The seminar was started by longtime Rotarian Jerry Potter, who initiated this seminar for Edina students years ago. It was originally called "Do the Right Thing."
Thanks to all our volunteers!

You are changing lives in our community. Thank you for your gift to the Southdale YMCA. Your generosity will create an immediate impact at the location and program you've designated.
Because of you, and thousands of other donors, the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities is boldly able to push what's possible, challenge limits, and open doors so everyone has an equal chance to succeed.
Your investment ensures that everyone (over 360,000 people in 2017!) has access to impactful programs, no matter their background or income. Together, we are building thriving communities and making them strong enough to endure for generations.
The Rotary Club of Edina had it’s meeting Oct. 18 and the program speaker was Scott Neal, City Manager of Edina, who gave us an update on development in the city. Scott is also an Edina Rotarian.
We heard several announcements and promotions of upcoming events, and the Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala results were shared. And a group photo was taken of the Rotary Club of Edina for the first time in 25 years!
