As part of the project, Rotarians read the book Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure to local students and discuss ethics with them. Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure is the story of a young entrepreneur who starts an apple dumpling business. With the guidance of a mysterious voice conveying the Four-Way Test, he turns his venture into a wonderful success and makes friends along the way. During the chats, members get to know each other and about the club. Hosts typically provide appetizer and beverages, however, and while not required to attend, some hosts appreciate guests bringing and sharing treats and beverages. This event is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Edina and the North Minneapolis Rotary Club, and is open to members from both clubs, as well as family and guests. The Board has approved a Bylaw Change to the Race & Equity Committee to be moved out from under Membership to its own Committee as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee with a Board Member. Read More to see the details of the change proposed.
The meeting was called to order by the President, Michael Stanzak, to a large crowd of the best Rotary Club ever. Michael presented the member spotlights which included Lindsey Smaka, Josh Sprague, Tom Bach, Kayla Beehler, Shelly Loberg, Karlen Padayachee. Also, Michael provided a picture of those members visiting Escuintla Guatemala Hospital with an invitation to other members to visit and participate in Rotary projects such as the installation of water filtration plants.
