The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Chris O'Brien as program speaker at the Thursday, Aug. 31, meeting. O'Brien is the Chief Commercial Officer for C.H. Robinson. He will speak about "Getting it There: The Supply Chain and Transportation Industry and the Minneapolis Company That Has Been Empowering It For 112 Years."

 

 

Please bring your Edina Rotary Foundation Fundraiser & Gala raffle ticket money to the meeting this week, Aug. 31. You can give your raffle ticket stubs (these MUST be returned whether you sold all your tickets or not) and money collected to Marty Kupper or Mike Opitz. The Edina Rotary Foundation is accepting applications from non-profit organizations in Edina and its contiguous communities for grants to be used for capital purchases. Applications are due Oct. 31.

Barry Rassin of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, is the selection of the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International for 2018–2019. He will be declared the president-elect on Sept. 1, 2017 if no challenging candidates have been suggested.

As president, Rassin aims to strengthen our public image and our use of digital tools to maximize Rotary’s reach.

“Those who know what good Rotary clubs do will want to be a part of it, and we must find new models for membership that allow all interested in our mission to participate,” he says. “With Rotary more in the public eye, we will attract more individuals who want to be part of and support a membership organization that accomplishes so much good around the world.”

Volunteers are needed at this year's Camp Enterprise to help with technology. This year's Camp Enterprise is Thursday, Nov. 2, through Nov. 4, and volunteers would need to be there Thursday at noon through Saturday afternoon. The volunteer(s) would make sure microphones, LCD projectors, etc. are all working properly.
