Sally has an MA in professional counseling. She served as Chief Development Officer and Equine Trainer at Acres for Life (One of the largest Mental Health Equine – Experiential Programs in the world) for 5 years and has spent a decade raising awareness of the healing power of horses.
Mark is a connector! In 2019, Mark met Sally Mixon (Founder) and has played a significant role in building traction and awareness to this inspiring and transforming vision.
The vision of Abijah’s on the Backside is inspired by Sally’s faith, her late friend, Jeff Lukas, and David Burrage who took care of Jeff for 20 years following his famous accident in 1993 with Tobasco Cat.

The Rotary Club of Edina and the 50th & France Business & Professional Association will host the fifth-annual Edina Car Show noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in downtown Edina.
The Edina Car Show will be held rain or shine in the 50th & France District. The event is free for spectators. Car owners can participate for $10 with advanced registration or $20 at the gate.
September 16th and the Edina Car Show is fast approaching, we need about 10 people in a couple shifts to help with registration, car check-in and many miscellaneous support tasks. Shifts are two hours and you're welcome to sign up for more than one. Rotarians who just want to visit the show should wear their Rotary gear and help promote the club and event spirit. Sign up today to help Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP) serve the hungry in our community! Volunteers welcome participants to the VEAP pantry, explain the process and respond to participant questions, keep the shopping area clean and tidy, sort through food donations, stock shelves, load groceries into vehicles and overall help VEAP promote a positive shopping experience for participants. The Edina Rotary Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations in Edina and its contiguous communities for grants to be used for capital purchases. Applications are due Oct. 31.
Each year, the Rotary Club of Edina raises money at the Edina Car Show and a fall fundraiser to support its projects and award grants. Each year, about $100,000 is raised for the Club’s service projects and local and international grants.

Rotary Community Core@Lake Street is a hyper-local project that emerged to revitalize the businesses damaged during the uprising that followed the murder of George Floyd. Long-term, the goal is to build community trust and business growth in the neighborhood.
