The (Super-Seriously-Honest) Confessions of a High Schooler. Adaolisa Mbe was born in Miami, Florida and lived there her entire life until she joined the Edina A Better Chance program.
Adaolisa’s parents immigrated from Nigeria in the late 90's and early 2000's and have 4 children. Adaolisa has an older brother who's at the University of Florida, a younger sister who's a junior at EHS, and a younger brother who's a freshman at her hometown high school.
She has been an Edina A Better Chance scholar for four years, but spent one year at home because of COVID.
She will graduate from Edina High School this June and will begin her university career at Harvard this fall.

The Rotary Club of Edina is looking forward to this spring when the following service projects will give our members the opportunity to serve the local community. Saturday, April 15 is a rescheduled event in partnership with MN Involve and their work with the unsheltered Minneapolis population. Grant Snyder and his team are grateful for our help with the assembly of relief kits and the preparation and serving of lunch in Loring Park. Saturday, June 3 will be spent in service to JCS Affective Sober Living who operate two sober homes providing women a safe and healthy transition while in recovery from addition.
The Rotary Club of Edina seeks nominees for the 16th-annual“Chrysanne Manoles Women In Leadership Award.”
Nominees cannot be current Rotarians and must live, work or volunteer in Edina. Female nominees must demonstrate Rotary’s “Four Way Test” of the things we think, say or do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
To nominate a woman for the prestigious award, submit a one- or two-page letter explaining how the person demonstrates the Four Way Test and what she does in the community outside of any professional position she holds.
