Where were you in 1993? That was the last group photo we took of our club. At the Rotary Club of Edina meeting Oct. 18 we’re going to capture the 21st century version of Edina Rotary. That only gives you two weeks to get your hair cut and buy a new tie or necklace! (Please check your hats). And, remember to bring your smile!!

Autumn has arrived and it is time for the annual Fall Fireside Chats! We have four events scheduled for Rotarians to attend Oct. 16 through Oct. 26. All Fireside Chats begin at 7 p.m. and include:
Tuesday, Oct. 16—home of Tom Ries, 6600 Sally Lane, Edina. Register here. Wednesday, Oct. 24—home of Thom Winninger, 5637 Interlachen Circle, Edina. Register here. Thursday, Oct. 25—home of Gordy Lewis, 6824 Chapel Lane, Edina. Register here. Friday, Oct. 26—home of Paul Mooty, 5320 Kelsey Terrace, Edina. Register here.
Held each spring and fall, the Fireside Chats are very informal social exchanges for members to enjoy and learn about Rotary and to get to know one another. The hosts are asked only to encourage discussion and a good time for all. It is a chance to meet our new members or reconnect with old friends! Members are encouraged to come to all the Fireside Chats, or pick the one that best works with their schedule. We encourage everyone to register to allow the hosts to plan for the event.
New members—you are especially encouraged to attend one or all of the Fireside Chats! It is a great way to get to know your fellow Rotarians in a casual atmosphere. Let us know if you have questions.
The Rotary Club of Edina will host the Leadership Ethics Seminar for Edina High School students on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at St. Patrick's Church in Edina. This all-day session features small group discussions, speakers, and a case study discussion for the entire group.

The Leadership Ethics Seminar is chaired this year by John Buttolph and Sutton McGraw. The seminar was started by longtime Rotarian Jerry Potter, who initiated this seminar for Edina students years ago. It was originally called "Do the Right Thing."
Every two seconds someone needs blood. Volunteer donors like you are the only people who can help. Please consider helping and Give Forward at our Edina Rotary Blood Drive on Thursday, Oct. 25! Memorial Blood Centers will have their bloodmobile in the parking lot of Edina Country Club.
Please register online if you are willing to help. A link was sent out yesterday to those already registered to have them sign up for a time to give blood. (It takes less than an hour...complete with treats).
You can still sign up and please invite family members, friends and neighbors to join you.
Contact President John Flynn or event chair Katy Campbell if you have questions. Thank you for your service to humanity!

There is no Rotary Club of Edina meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Edina Country Club. All members are encouraged to attend the Veterans Luncheon.
Rotarian Doug Johnson is still looking for help with a Rotary service project. Doug is one of our volunteers who picks up bread each Friday morning from Jerry's Foods in Edina and then drops the bread off at St. Stephen's Church and School, where it is used by the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen. Doug will be unable to make the bread deliveries in November and December. Can you fill in for Doug for a couple months? Please contact Doug and let him know you can help, and he'll give you more information. The project has several Rotarians that volunteer their time, and it is organized by Dan Hallberg.

Please spread the word about this special opportunity and contact David Clynes or Shelly Loberg with any questions. An email was recently sent out to all members with this info and the scholarship terms and conditions and application form.
