Mark Stutrud, president and founder of Summit Brewing Co., will be the program speaker at this week's, Thursday, April 6, Rotary Club of Edina meeting. Stutrud will speak about "Experiences Being a Brewing Sod-Buster." There will be samples of some of Summit's brews at the meeting.

 

Stutrud has been a member of the St. Paul Rotary Club #10 since 2000.

 

 

 

The next Rotary Vocational Development Group tonight, Wednesday, April 5. The speaker at the meeting will be our own André Brewer. 

 

Once a month, Edina Rotarians have a chance to connect with other club members, and any guests, at the happy hour. This Rotary event is held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Mezz at the Lunds & Byerly's in Edina. The meeting will feature a brief presentation from a featured Rotarian, plus time for introductions, networking and questions. The Rotary Club of Edina and EMRC collaborate on this event.

Monday evening, April 3, the City of Edina held the 38th annual Volunteer Awards Reception. This is an opportunity for organizations to recognize outstanding volunteers each year. The Edina Rotary Club recognized Gary Pedersen as Rotarian of the Year for his work on the International Service project in Escuintla, Guatemala.

Also at the reception, Camp Enterprise was recognized with the Mayor’s Service To Youth Commendation. And the Mayor’s Outstanding Senior Commendation was awarded to Rotarian Frank Cardarelle, for serving as liaison for the Rotary Club of Edina and the Edina Historical Society for 48 years. 

 

 

Longtime Rotary Club of Edina member Dennis Bock passed away March 28, 2017. His funeral was Monday, April 3, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Edina. Denny was president of our club in 1984–1985.

 

The annual Area 3 Rotary Vocational Ethics Day meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Edina Country Club. All Edina Rotarians are encouraged to attend, and many Rotarians from area clubs, as well as local high schools, will also be in attendance. This year's keynote speaker is Michael Bellotti. He will speak about "How Art Saved My Life."

The March 30 Rotary Club of Edina meeting featured program speaker Dr. Mark Kroll. Two Edina Rotary Foundation grants were given out by the Community Service Local Funding Committee at the meeting, and new member Theresa Bea Halverson was officially inducted into the club. The Rotary Foundation Bowl is officially over. Which team squeaked out a victory with slightly more donations to TRF?
