Luke Shimp of Red Cow to speak this week

The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Luke Shimp as program speaker at this week's meeting, Thursday, Aug. 10. Shimp is president and owner of Red Cow, which operates four Red Cow "21st Century Taverns" in the Twin Cities, and Red Rabbit restaurant in the North Loop of Minneapolis. The program topic will be "A Conversation about Growth with Luke Shimp."

Smile pretty! Rotary photos are this week!

Photographer Polly Norman will take portraits of Rotarians before the club's meeting this week, Aug. 10. Photos will be used in the Club Directory and in President San Asato's weekly meeting presentation. Please arrive between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., prepared to have your photo taken.

If you would prefer to submit a photo, please send it to Past President Jennifer Bennerotte as soon as possible. Photos should be in color, high-resolution and taken in the past three years. Professional portraits are preferred.

Last week to register for Aug. 17 meeting

The Rotary Club of Edina will host Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, as program speaker at next week's meeting, Thursday, Aug. 17. Our club has invited all Area 3 and 5 Rotary clubs to attend this meeting, as well as the Minneapolis #9 Rotary Club. For planning purposes, Edina Rotarians are asked to please register here if they plan to attend and also to register any guests they will bring. We expect more than 250 Rotarians and guests to attend this meeting, so we need all those who plan to be there Aug. 17 to register online. The deadline for registering is noon Friday, Aug. 11.

Tech help needed at 2017 Camp Enterprise

Volunteers are needed at this year's Camp Enterprise to help with technology. This year's Camp Enterprise is Thursday, Nov. 2, through Nov. 4, and volunteers would need to be there Thursday at noon through Saturday afternoon. The volunteer(s) would make sure microphones, LCD projectors, etc. are all working properly.

At the Aug. 3 Rotary Club of Edina meeting, the program speaker was Mark Coyle, University of Minnesota Athletic Director. Longtime Rotarian Bill Clynes gave a Six-Carat Diamond Talk, and was introduced by his son and fellow Rotarian, David Clynes.
