The program speaker for the Thursday, Sept. 13, Rotary Club of Edina meeting is Irene Kelly, Governor of Rotary District 5950. She will share an update about our nationally recognized District. Her presentation is titled, "Be the Inspiration!" Kelly will serve as District Governor from July 2018 through June 2019. She is a member of the Eden Prairie AM Rotary Club.

This is what you've been waiting for! It is all about the Fundraiser & Gala Online Auction at this week's Rotary meeting! We will be doing a demonstration using our online bidding system (Greater Giving) at our meeting as the Online Auction goes LIVE this Thursday, Sept. 13! Jumpstart your bidding, preview our online auction and sign up for some great events while learning about the online bidding process! Most importantly, bring your smart phone! You'll need it at the meeting to follow along with the demonstration, and will definitely need it the night of the event to keep bidding!
There is still time to buy your tickets to "Rotary's Got Talent!" Send back the RSVP, along with payment, that came with the mailed invitation, or go online to purchase your tickets. Invite friends and family! There will be Gala invitations on the tables at meetings this week and next week. You can also mail that info back with your RSVP. Sponsors who would like to buy additional tickets for non-Rotarians can purchase them for $100 each.
The Fundraiser Committee reminds members to sell their raffle tickets and turn in stubs and money as soon as possible. We are looking for 100 percent participation in the raffle from members!
In addition, the Committee seeks donations of restaurant gift cards and items for the online auction.

Our The Rotary Foundation Director, David Clynes, honored Paul Harris Fellows (PHF) at the Sept. 6 Rotary Club of Edina meeting. David, with the help of Katy Campbell, acknowledged their generous donations to The Rotary Foundation, including two members who are also Paul Harris Society (PHS) members, giving $1,000 each year to TRF.
The Rotary Club of Edina and the Edina Morningside Rotary Club are embarking on starting and supporting a Rotaract Club. Rotaract clubs consist of young professionals between the ages of 18 and 30. Starting a Rotaract Club is one of five of our clubs visioning goals. It also is Rotary International President Barry Rassin’s goal this year is to expand Rotaract globally and strengthen the transition from Rotaract into Rotary.
The first meeting of the Rotaract Club of Edina will be held 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 12, at The Mezz at Lunds & Bylerlys, 7171 France Ave. S. The speakers at the first meeting will be Clare Richards, Past President of the St. Cloud Rotaract Club, and Brandon Richards, St. Cloud Rotarct Financial Committee Head. They will share information on how to be a successful Rotaract club. St. Cloud Rotaract was founded in 2015 and currently has 26 active members.
Going forward, meetings will be held at the Mezz at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Each meeting will feature a speaker and focus on service projects in alignment with Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”

The Rotary Club of Edina will host the Leadership Ethics Seminar for Edina High School students on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at St. Patrick's Church in Edina. This all-day session features small group discussions, speakers, and a case study discussion for the entire group.
The Leadership Ethics Seminar is chaired this year by John Buttolph and Sutton McGraw. The seminar was started by longtime Rotarian Jerry Potter, who initiated this seminar for Edina students years ago. It was originally called "Do the Right Thing."
Twenty adults, mostly Rotarians, will be table leaders for the Edina High School students who are participating. We need Rotarians to volunteer to serve as Table Leaders. Please contact Sutton McGraw if you would like to volunteer or for more information.
The program speaker at the Sept. 6 Rotary Club of Edina meeting was Dr. John Wald from Mayo Clinic. He spoke about "Mayo Clinic—Destination Medical Center."
