The 2018 Chrysanne Manoles Women In Leadership Award will be presented this Thursday, May 24, at the Rotary Club of Edina meeting at the Edina Country Club. This is the ninth Women in Leadership Award given, named after Chrysanne Manoles, the first female member of our club. She is still active in Rotary today. In Manoles’ honor and to celebrate the work of women in the community, the Rotary Club of Edina established an annual women’s leadership award in 2008.
The speaker will be the 2017 Women in Leadership Award winner, Lauren Morse-Wendt.

Are you someone who enjoys taking photos? If so, contact Club Service Director Marty Kupper to sign up for the Photo Committee! We have openings on the committee for the new Rotary year. You need not be an expert, just someone comfortable taking photos and willing to get a few pointers from this guy at right.
We all like to peruse the photos each week from our Rotary meetings. Our Photo Committee diligently takes photographs each week so we can share our meeting goings-on with other members and interested members of the public. The photos are used each week in The Barker, as well as being posted on Facebook. Those important photos drive a lot of traffic to our website and Facebook page, introducing our club and the great work of Rotary to a broader audience!
The Rotary District 5950 Conference was Monday, May 21, at the Guthrie Theater in downtown Minneapolis. The gathering was a year-end celebration of all the incredible work our District 5950 Rotarians have done this Rotary year.
The Opioid Awareness Workshop that our club held May 3 received an award at the conference! Josh Sprague, organizer of the event, accepted the award for our club. Congratulations to all involved!
And the rumors were true! Our own Tim Murphy did fly across the Guthrie stage at the conference!
