We had a very nice service for my Dad on June 7 and our Rotary club was well represented and Tom Cook did a great job officiating. Wooj and I gave eulogy’s but a eulogy given by one of my dad’s pals from church, Juan Griak (8 years old) stole the show (text following). 74 + people were in attendance which we thought was a good showing with Covid on its last legs but still around.
Thank you for your very generous memorial contribution to N. C. Little Hospice. That certainly is a special place full of Agape - that has touched many lives.
Thank you also to my Edina Rotary friends that have lifted me with love and special ovations of kindness last fall during my dad’s last weeks and passing.
I have never witnessed a eulogy like this and I have been to many memorial services. Juan’s words were further confirmation to me of just how proud I am of my father, his spirit and his priorities.
Here is the text of Juan’s eulogy.
Hi, Some of you know me. My name is Juan. Bill Clynes was of my very first friends here at St Stephen’s when I first came.
I loved seeing Bill and David during dinner on Wednesday because they always had great things to say to me, so it is an honor to say some great things about Bill.
Bill made me feel special and very included here at Church.
He always treated me and my family to very nice dinners at his house and at the hospital.
I am so happy that Bill was around long enough for us to become friends and I will never forget talking with him and he will stay with me always.
Bill is probably treating God to lunch in heaven right now, that is the kind of person he was.
Hey Bill, since you are listening right now, I just want you to know that I love you and that I will carry on your love forever. And God, please share Bill’s love all over this world, and take care of Bill Clynes.
I will miss your smile and laugh. But I know you are here with me.
Thank you for listening.
David

Back to the hybrid version of your choice to attend club meeting via IN-PERSON or ZOOM platforms. The continued excellent editing talents of C-Vision Productions (Chris Laskowski) is allowing us to make better use of the taped and edited meetings posted weekly to You Tube and use them as our new "In Review" format. This will eliminate the duty of "The Barker" note taker/writer and we will, for the time being, no longer publish written reviews. In-person meeting photos will resume. Keep in mind watching the You Tube video counts as a make-up. Let Becci know what meeting dates you watched and she will mark you as attended.
We will post the link to the last meeting video taped (see above) and photos from the meeting.
Thursday, June 15, 2021 there will be the hybrid version with in-person meeting at the Edina Country Club with doors open at Noon and ZOOM meeting beginning at 12:30 a.m.. Please see our club web page and watch your email for meeting updates.
