The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Edina Police Officer Dave Lindman as the program speaker at the Jan. 15 meeting. He will speak about "White Collar Crime and Identity Theft." 
 
New member Larry Doty will be officially inducted into the Club at the meeting.

Lindman has been with the Edina Police Department for over fourteen years. He was assigned to the Minnesota Financial Crimes Task Force for more than five years, where he worked on organized crime groups that were involved in complex fraud. Additionally, he has worked two years of undercover commercial crimes where he investigated theft rings and fencing operations. Currently, he continues to work on organized fraud groups as a Special Federal Deputy United States Marshal under the authority of the United States Secret Service. Lindman is the computer forensic examiner for the Edina Police Department, and he also assists with forensics for the Minnesota Financial Crimes Task Force and several federal agencies. He has participated in or led investigations that have received international awards and recognition.

The Edina Crime Prevention Fund named Lindman as officer of the year in 2013. He received the Mike Siitari Officer of the Year award for his work on an international financial fraud case named Operation Starburst.
