Periodically we feature a newer member of the Rotary Club of Edina on our website and in our newsletter. The Rotary Club of Edina welcomed André Brewer as a member in October 2016. André's sponsor to the club was Sam Cote.

Name: André Brewer

Classification: Youth Development

What was your first job? Camp Counselor at Camp Lincoln for Boys, Lake Hubert, Minnesota

Who was your first role model and why? My mother, Corrye Brewer. She role modeled a very strong work ethic and taught my siblings and I to never doubt our abilities. Too, she instilled in us the importance of acceptance of people that may be different in any way from each of us.

Why did you want to join Rotary? I am a believer in giving back to my community and know that by getting involved in the Edina Rotary Club,  I will get to do this. Too, the amount of camaraderie I felt when I attended the five or six meetings before becoming a member was something I want to be a part of as well.

What do you like best about being part of the Rotary Club of Edina? The opportunity to meet so many people from diverse backgrounds who are all committed to giving back and making a difference in society.

What one piece of advice do you offer other business leaders? I would recommend taking time each week to truly get to know your employees and  to be open to change in your businesses.

André has already made an impact in our club. We are so glad to have you as a member, André!
