Recently, Rotary Club of Edina member Dan Hallberg had a hand in helping another area Rotary Club develop a program that puts bread into the hands of families in need. Hallberg came up with the idea of Lakewinds Cooperative donating unsold bread to a local church, where it is available for families coming for the Loaves and Fishes evening meal. Hallberg’s time spent volunteering for VEAP led to his idea for a new way local families could receive bread to take home, and he worked with the Richfield Rotary Club to make it happen. Rotary service in action!
