The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Bill McGuire as the program speaker at the Thursday, July 19, meeting. McGuire is former chairman and CEO of UnitedHealth Group, and owns the Minnesota United FC, Minnesota's professional soccer team.
 
Rotarian Katy Campbell will give her Classification Talk at the meeting.

William "Bill" McGuire, M.D. (born 1948) is an American pulmonologist, lepidopterist, philanthropist, and healthcare executive, best known for his tenure as chairman and chief executive officer of UnitedHealth Group from 1991 until his resignation in 2006. He also owns Minnesota United FC, Minnesota's professional soccer team.

McGuire was born in Troy, New York, and grew up in League City, Texas. He attended college at the University of Texas at Austin and medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas. After medical school, he worked in California and Colorado before moving to Minnesota.
 
The Rotary Club of Edina meets at 12:15 p.m. Thursdays at the Edina Country Club. All are welcome. Cost for lunch and the program is $20 for adults, $12 for children. Cash, check or credit card payments are accepted at the door.
