Edina Comprehensive Plan kick-off meeting is May 8
At the community meeting, the comprehensive planning process will be introduced, and people and organizations are encouraged to share what they would like to see for Edina in the coming years.
The Comprehensive Plan is a document required by the Metropolitan Council to guide development, prepare for changes in the community such as increased traffic, and give an outline of how to address other factors that may have an impact on people, businesses and quality of life. It’s also used as a basis for developing programs and directing where to spend tax dollars.
An update to Edina’s plan is due at the end of 2018. Public input is now sought to help as the two-year process begins. Two workshops were recently held to incorporate themes from “Vision Edina,” the 2015 strategic vision for the City, into the Comprehensive Plan.
