He served as president of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance for over 10 years, and was also a longtime board member of the Minnesota Mental Health Association. Anselmo co-founded the Warehouse District Business Association in Minneapolis and served on the Minneapolis Downtown Council for more than a decade.

Today, Anselmo is proud to represent the people and priorities of Edina in the Minnesota House of Representatives, serving District 49A. In his first term, he sits on three committees: Education Finance, Higher Education and Career Readiness, Policy and Finance, and Legacy Funding Finance.
