The Rotary Club of Edina will welcome Tom Anderson as program speaker at the Thursday, Jan. 25, meeting. Anderson is the retired general counsel for the Metropolitan Airports Commission. He retired from MAC in October 2017 after 40 years of service.
 
New member Jennifer Hendrickson will be officially inducted into the club at the meeting.

In Tom Anderson's 40 years with the Metropolitan Airports Commission, he was at the center of significant issues related to airline competition and hubbing; the Northwest Airline financing package; the Dual Track Airport Planning Process; changes in aviation security caused by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks; the Northwest Airlines bankruptcy; labor disputes; and aircraft noise and environmental issues.
 
He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review
 
In 2017 he was selected as the “Transportation Attorney of the Year” by the Federal Bar Association. He has also received the “Leadership Award” from the Airports Council International-North America, an industry trade organization,  and the “Public Attorney Award of Excellence” Award from the Minnesota State Bar Association.
 
He and his wife, Kathryn Hagen, have been Edina (Country Club) residents for over 30 years.
